    25 June 2014

    Webinar: Harmonization

    Date: June 25, 2014; 12:00 – 1:00 pm EDT

    Location: Online

Host: GRI Focal Point USA & Canada and Bloomberg L.P.

    Event Details:

More than 5,000 companies worldwide report on their economic, environmental, and social impacts. In fact, according to KPMG research, 93% of the world’s largest 250 companies issue a corporate responsibility report, 82% of which refer to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Guidelines. The debate around whether a company should report is certainly over, and has now become a question of how to improve the quality of these reports and efficiency in reporting.

Driving companies to focus on what really matters, reporting standards and frameworks enable better, easier, and more robust reporting – from the latest version of GRI’s Guidelines, G4, to the UN Global Compact Principles (UNGC), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), International Integrated Reporting Framework (IR), and others.

Making the move towards better quality reporting requires an awareness of how these various international standards and frameworks link-up.

That’s why on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, GRI North America and Bloomberg LP are co-hosting a webinar on the topic of harmonization - to explore these links, and focus on the importance of harmonization in accelerating the move towards better reporting.

During the webinar, Andrew Park, Senior Sustainability Strategist at Bloomberg L.P., will facilitate a dialogue with the following special guests on how these reporting standards and initiatives align.

    • Eric Israel, Director, GRI North America
    • Mardi McBrien, Chief Operating Officer, Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB) at CDP
    • Sarah Botswick, Reporting Manager, UNGC
    • Sonia Gupta, Team Lead Sustainability Disclosure and Corporate Social Responsibility, Suncor Energy
    • Madison Brown, ESG Analyst, Bloomberg LP
    • Katie Schmitz EulittDirector Stakeholder Engagement, SASB
